Experience the magic of plant colors! Join us on Saturday, March 1st from 10:30am - 12:30pm. We will use dried botanicals and an insect (cochineal) to create a custom, bundle dyed silk scarf and a pair of cotton socks. We will bundle dye two ways, with steam and hot water, creating very differnt results. This two-hour workshop led by educator and natural dyer Lisa Rogers will cover the basics of natural dyeing. We will also discuss fabric preperation (scouring and mordanting) and best dye plants to grow in your garden. Cost $90/each. No materials or experience needed. Workshop fee includes all necessary materials and instruction. Register soon as space is limited. Lisa Rogers is the creator and owner of SlowDigz. She worked as a science and garden educator and began following a creative path with natural dyeing. Lisa first learned about ecoprinting, printing leaves on fabric and paper, over a decade ago and was captivated. Through reading, workshops and a lot of experimentation, she aims to create functional, fun pieces, printed with botanicals. Lisa shares her passion through workshops around the Bay Area.
