Experience the magic of plant colors! Join us on Saturday, March 9th from from 10:30am - 12:30pm. We will use dried botanicals and an insect (cochineal) to create a custom, bundle dyed silk neckerchief/bandana. This two-hour workshop led by educator and natural dyer Lisa Rogers will cover the basics of natural dyeing. We will cover: * How to prepare different fabrics from scouring to mordanting. * Modifying colors with pH and iron * Overview of natural dyes found in the kitchen, compost bin and available at stores. Workshop fee includes all necessary materials and instruction. Register soon as space is limited. She worked as a science and garden educator and began following a creative path with natural dyeing. Lisa first learned about ecoprinting, printing leaves on fabric and paper, over a decade ago and was captivated. Through reading, workshops and a lot of experimentation, she aims to create functional, fun, one-of-a-kind pieces, hand dyed or printed using botanicals.
