Sunday, December 5th from 10am - noon This two-hour workshop led by educator and natural dyer Lisa Rogers will cover the basics of natural dyeing. We will cover: * How to prepare different fabrics from scouring to mordanting. * Overview of natural dyes found in the kitchen, compost bin and at natural dye supply stores. * Resources will be discussed including books, natural dye suppliers, websites and where to source fabrics and materials. Each participant will leave with a one of a kind, botanical bundle dyed silk neckerchief/bandana. *** You can create one extra silk piece for yourself or maybe as a gift for $20 extra. Please email Lisa if you would like to add this option and pay the extra fee at the workshop. Workshop fee includes all necessary materials and instruction. Lisa Rogers is the creator and owner of SlowDigz. She works and volunteers as a science and garden educator and began following a creative path with natural dyeing. Lisa learned about ecoprinting, printing leaves on fabric and paper, over a decade ago and was captivated. Through reading, online workshops and a lot of experimentation, she aims to create functional, fun, one of a kind pieces, hand dyed or printed using botanicals.
