Sunday, December 12th from 10am - 1pm, join us at the Vitality Center in downtown Sebastopol. This three-hour workshop led by educator and natural dyer Lisa Rogers will cover the basics of botanical leaf printing, known as ecoprinting. In this workshop will will cover go a few different techniques. Samples of a various fabrics printed with local leaves will be disucessed. Participants will create their botanical leaf print designs on a pre-mordanted raw silk piece. It can be used as a runner or scarf, also wonderful as a holiday gift. This, unfinished, raw edged piece is approximately 12” X 55” This class is limited to 6 participants and masks are required as it will be held indoors. There will be a 35-45 minute lunch break while pieces steam away. The Farmers Market is a block away & there are many great lunch options in downtown Sebastopol. Cost $80/each. No materials or experience needed. Workshop fee includes all necessary materials and instruction. Lisa Rogers is the creator and owner of SlowDigz. She works and volunteers as a science and garden educator and began following a creative path with natural dyeing. Lisa learned about ecoprinting, printing leaves on fabric and paper, over a decade ago and was captivated. Through reading, online workshops and a lot of experimentation, she aims to create functional, fun, one of a kind pieces, hand dyed or printed using botanicals.
