Leaf print on wool, Saturday, November 1st from 10:30am - 2:30pm, at Dharma Trading Store in San Rafael. Create a beautiful wool scarf in this four-hour workshop led by educator and natural dyer Lisa Rogers. Leaf print with local leaves on a Climate Beneficial Verified wool scarf made in the USA. It is soft merino wool with silk thread, serged edges and measures approximately 8" by 72." We will also discuss a few local dyes that work great on wool and try our hand at leaf pounding (Hapa Zome) on a variety of fibers while pieces simmer away. There will be a 45 minute lunch break. This class is limited to 8 participants. Cost $125/each. No materials or experience needed. Workshop fee includes all necessary materials and instruction. She worked as a science and garden educator and began following a creative path with natural dyeing. Lisa first learned about ecoprinting, printing leaves on fabric and paper, over a decade ago. Through reading, online workshops and a lot of experimentation, she aims to create functional, fun, one of a kind pieces, hand dyed or printed using botanicals.
